WHAT ARE THE BEST PLANT BASED DIET WEBSITES? Top 5

Sharing is caring!

Ever wonder what the top five best plant based diet websites are? Well, for your reading (and viewing) pleasure, I’ve put together a quick review of my Top 5 favorites. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. These are valuable resources that I use daily. They give me guidance on new recipes and smart ingredients that I can add to boost my performance, daily. I hope you enjoy this quick and dirty review post.

1. Nutritionfacts.org

I love this site and I love the YouTube channel, too. Nutritionfacts.org is Dr. Michael Greger’s amazing website. For those of you who may not be familiar with him, Dr. Greger reviews all the plant based diet research that’s published every year and condenses it in both video and blog content that’s posted pretty much every day. I also like that he donates 100% of all earnings from his books, speaking engagements, etc. to charity. He does this as a labor of love and service to the public, and he does it in honor of his grandmother. So cool. The content (especially that of his supporting YouTube channel- of the same name) is entertaining, it’s informative and best of all it’s evidence based. This, meaning, it’s all based and founded on science and research.

My ‘Greenie Tip’ (or recommendation) for this website is to check out the ‘Live Q and A’ section under the VIDEOS tab. Once a month. Dr Greger will answer all the comments he’s received on his YouTube channel while he is walking on his treadmill. It’s a pretty cool way to answer his fans questions while setting a great example to ‘Get up and Get moving’. So check that out.

2. Ornish.com

Dr. Dean Ornish’s Lifestyle medicine website is amazing.  Dr. Ornish is the godfather of lifestyle medicine with over 36 years of doing research and writing articles and books supporting this healthy lifestyle. He’s conducted many studies showing that changes in your diet and lifestyle could have a dramatic and powerful effect on your health.

My ‘Greenie Tip’ for Dr Ornish’s website is what he calls the ‘proven program’.

In his proven program, he goes through research, basically nutrition, stress management, fitness and love and support. So check that out.

3. PCRM.org

Dr. Neil Barnard’s Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine or PCRM. What I love about this website is that Dr. Neal Barnard is another legend. He’s also a huge animal rights advocate within the plant based community.

My ‘Greenie Tip’ for Dr. Barnard’s PCRM website is their ‘21 day kickstart’. This is an awesome app available both on Android and iPhone that can walk you through a 21 day plan for going plant based. So check that out.

4. Forksoverknives.com

I love this website. Forks over knives is a landmark plant-based documentary that honestly started me off on my plant based journey. I love it. It examines the claim that most chronic diseases can be controlled or reversed by eliminating animal-based and processed foods. What an awesome website. And, what an awesome movie.

My ‘Greenie Tip’ is actually to watch the film.  So, go the the ‘Our Story’ page and drop down to see ‘The Film’. Definitely, one of the BEST plant based diet websites!

5. Plantstrong.com

This is sort of an offshoot, so to speak, of the forks over knives phenomenon. This website was created by Rip Esselstyn, who is the son of one of the doctors highlighted in the film, Forks Over Knives- Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.

Rip is a former professional triathlete and former Austin, Texas firefighter who introduced the plant based diet to his Austin, Texas Engine 2 firehouse . There, he and his fellow firefighters helped to rescue a fellow firefighter who was struggling with high cholesterol (344)  and poor health. He documents that story in his book- The Engine 2 Diet.

My ‘Greenie Tip’ for plantstrong.com? Try the Engine 2  pre-made meals. They are an exclusive food line that’s only available at Whole Foods. Check it out. I use these delicious meals as a backup. They’re all pre-made meals that I keep as a freezer backup in case I don’t have time to put together a fresh meal.

So there you have it. My top five best plant based diet websites. I hope you enjoyed that. Be well.

Good Health, and Good Eating!.
