Epic Sustainable Living Expo Highlights

On Saturday my wife and I packed up the two kids and headed off t0 the Epic Sustainable Living Expo at the new convention center in downtown Vancouver.  He are some of the highlights that we found interesting.

I had heard of green roofs, but I had yet to see green walls! Green Over Grey’s unique system makes it possible to transform any vertical surface into a lush and strikingly beautiful garden, either inside or out.

Doing some building and improvements to your house? Check out ReStore. This organization sells new and used high-quality building supplies, appliances and renovation materials that can help you save money, protect they environment and help families in need.

We check out Canada’s most sustainable brewery. Turning Point Brewing Company boast a 11o foot wind turbine that helps power some of the breweries operations. Their Stanley Park 1897 Amber was smooth and refreshing!

We also bought my son a Fair Trade soccer ball. I didn’t know this, but most of the worlds soccer balls are actually made in Pakistan using child labor. The ball we bought was only about $26 and was produced under the Fair Trade program and was not produced using child labor.
